Caffeine Roasters Tampa opened in 2016 near the Tampa Soho District on East Cass Street by Nidas Kiuberis and three other coffee enthusiasts and entrepreneurs, with a second location, dubbed the ‘mothership,’ on West Kennedy Street in Tampa. The Kennedy location is a massive 1,800-square-foot roastery, hosting 40+ seats and a drive-thru. Both locations house the newest equipment and technology for roasting such as the Nuova Simonelli Aurelia II espresso machine, roasting beans from Congo, Kenyan, Tanzania, Indonesia, Burundi, and many other exotic coffee bean locations imported from the source. The main goal at Caffeine Roasters of Tampa is to blend coffee beans with a character that reveals a certain taste palette in the cup, with the current top sellers being from Colombia and Guatemala.

The Cass Street location where I sat down to enjoy a nice cup of Costa Rican brewed coffee was started as a pilot location that served coffees roasted by Zeal Coffee Roasters until Caffeine Roasters launched its own program at the newer Kennedy location. Beyond hot coffee’s, they offer cold brew with infused fruit flavors, an aero cappuccino which is an iced sweet drink, and a sparkling coffee which is a blend of espresso and ginger ale. On display at the main counter, they also offer over 20 menu selections of house-made breakfast, lunch, and pastries prepared by Chef Freddy Peña.
