Thank you for stopping by. I hope that you find some articles of interest here, and share your findings with others. This blog was started in November of 2012 and as of the summer of 2018, there are over 450+ articles published on this blog, including fifteen from the worlds top 100 lists of San Pellegrino and the Elite Travelers Guides best restaurants. I have articles on exotic world locations such as Victoria Falls, and South African Safari’s; food recipes an a Grand Food Dictionary; ethnic country cuisines such as Afghan, and Peruvian; tasting tours of world cities like Charleston, Cape Town, and Dubai; and of course wine from vineyards in California, Oregon, the Carolina’s, South Africa, New Zealand, and Australia, with much more to see and write. To make it easier for you to find, here is a glossary of all articles broken down by there country of origin, and listed in alphabetical order.

Converting a recipe card from Imperial to Metric Cooking Conversions made easy
Most of the world uses the metric system to calculate recipes, mathematics, and so on. Only a handful use the imperial system and Great Britain uses a mixture of both systems. While working overseas with groups of people that only knew the metric system it was a challenge because our recipes were all in imperial which I had grown up using. So I created this article as a go-to source for that information. The internet has several sights to go to and find this information, but here it is all in one. So if you have no idea how many kilos are in a pound or ounces versus grams, this will be a major help.

Netflix Movie Codes search for your favorites
Unless you have lived under a rock, then you know that Netflix is the place for online movie and television watching in many countries, and they are expanding. Some guy spent the time to find all the codes to break down the movies in their category. While giving him full credit, I transcribed his findings into these 3 articles.

Tipping in Restaurants Etiquette, customs, cultures, and assumptions. Every country is different, so know who to tip, when, why, and how much before you visit a country.
“Tipping is not a city in China” as the saying goes. Though most of Europe and parts of Asia the restaurants include a gratuity with the final bill, in some countries to include the United States, 95% of restaurants do not, and the servers live off of this wage that you give them base on their performance. This article covers that and gives you the new information you may not know about where that money goes and what the server gets in the end. Hopefully, it makes you more aware.

From Yelp to the professional New York Times food writers, everyone has reviews out there, and all of them are subjective based on their experience. My restaurant reviews are the same way but I try to be as objective as possible and keep personal feelings aside so that I can judge the entire event as accurately as possible and give you the best information. This article describes the history of reviews, and how I review, to include the things I look for, and how I base my star ratings.

# - The Grand Food And Beverage Dictionary:
If you're looking for it, then you just found it
Go to the internet or a book in the library and you will find hundreds of selections to choose from when it comes to food and beverage dictionaries or encyclopedias. Some have lots of information while skipping out other info. Others are small and concentrate on specific things, but don’t cover everything that is food. This dictionary is broken down into 22 separate linked pages for all the letters of the alphabet. It not only covers foods, but also chefs, restaurants, markets, festivals, history, companies, food safety and government regulations, movies, television, and anything else you can think of. This dictionary is a constant work in progress as there is so much information. Feel free to recommend some additions… See the page Grand Food Dictionary above for full article listing.
