Paradise Grille Menu, Reviews, Photos, Location and Info - Zomato

The Paradise Grille on historic Pass-A-Grille is one of about ten restaurants on a small peninsula less than two miles long just south of the tourism meccas of St Pete and Clearwater Beaches. The grille is situated next to the main beach access which has a market several days a week, local singers, and sprawling beaches looking out to the Gulf of Mexico where weddings or simple gatherings are common and daily event.

On previous visits to Paradise Grille we shared the biscuits and country gravy dish served with some fried potatoes, the breakfast burrito also served with fried potatoes, turkey burger and the patty melt sandwich. On the last review I asked the question is Paradise Grille worth visiting again? It does not score points for fine restaurant dining, as it is a beach place and you have to expect that type of food. This is the third review based on the third, forth, and fifth visits in December 2018 with local and out of state friends, so yes we continue to return over and over again.

From these visits I noticed that the beer selection had increased from the previous visits. Between all of us we enjoyed beers from a Schöfferhofer Hefeweizen which is brewed in Bavarian tradition using wheat malt dating back to the 1400s, only my wife had their grapefruit infused beer the very first Hefeweizen 50/50 blend with grapefruit in the world. This was followed up by an IPA from the Big Storm Brewery based out of Tampa, Florida and an IPA from Goose Island

The selections we tried on these visits included the fish and chips, lightly battered cod deep fried to a nice and flaky golden brown served with French fries and a tartar sauce. The dish came with two pieces that looked like tender fingers over a small batch of fries and a side of coleslaw.

The perfect hangover food comes next, and one thing Saint Petersburg is known for beyond hangover and beach foods is it hamburgers, and there are many good ones around town. The burgers at Paradise Grille do hit the spot from our friends trying the regular cheeseburger to me ordering the black and bleu burger with a generous amount of blackened seasoning and a crumble blue cheese. The beef was juicy and not over cooked. Blend in the seasoning and pungency of the cheese, made for a nice afternoon delight.

Other selections from our group included a house salad with choice of dressing and two different paradise breakfast plates, one with scrambled egg and bacon and the other with ham that had over medium eggs. This is a good little spot for classic comfort American beach food. You place your order, find a wood bench with shade from an umbrella over looking the Gulf of Mexico, and wait with a number as your food gets delivered. With five visits and three reviews, we will not stop coming to this local dive, especially when the market is open or if we are having a beach day.

We did not have dessert during these visits.

Final notes, review basics, observations, and more pictures:

Most reviews are subjective, depending on the writer; but they should also be responsible, and respectfully written, upholding the truth, and accurately conveying the experience to the best of the writer's knowledge, even if it includes metaphors the restaurant may not like to read about. My ratings are by the stars I award (from 0 to 5). The rating is calculated on a point accumulation of six separate factors based on individual experience. They include wine and other beverage selections, plate presentation, customer service, restaurant or café ambiance, food quality, and wow factor. To see more details of this rating list, read this article:

Overall from this experience, and the score factors outlined in the ‘about page’ section, based on my individual experience and rating, I give Paradise Grille a 1 out of 5 stars, meaning that they are an average dining experience like most restaurants. On the first two reviews their score was 0.5 and 1 of 5 stars, so they have remained at the same standing from my previous visits.
