Paradise Grille Zomato rating:
On the southernmost end of St. Pete Beach is a small strip of land near Shell Key and Fort De Soto, there is a barrier peninsula less than two miles long, where fishing, dolphin watching, beautiful sunsets, and weddings on the beach are commonplace. First explored by the Spanish in1528 when Pánfilo de Narváez anchored off the coast, historic Pass-a-Grille is an escape away from the hustle and bustle of the busy St. Pete and Treasure Island beaches to the North. My wife and I take our dog there to a clean small dog beach, where she has a great time. The peninsula also has some great little restaurants, bars, and dives to eat at, and one of them is the Paradise Grille.
Paradise Grille / Pass-a-Grille Map |
Paradise Grille is a small shack restaurant with complete outdoor seating picnic benches, next to the main entrance of Pass-a-Grille Beach. The beach spans most of the two-mile-long peninsula with the center is the hub of the most activities on the island. Where Paradise Grille is located, there is also a weekend market where vendors sell all kinds of things, and this entire area is right next to the white sands of the beach itself. Across the road, you have more restaurants, bars, and gift shops. If you prefer fishing over the beach then just head straight over to the opposite side of the peninsula, where hundreds cast their lines into the water every day, where the seagulls and pelicans wait patiently to steal your catch. Paradise Grill is open throughout the day, for all three meals, and their menu is broken down by:
Menu:
- Omelets
- Egg Platters
- Breakfast Sandwiches
- Other Breakfast (French Toast, Gravy, Biscuits etc)
- Appetizers
- Salads
- Burgers
- Sandwiches and Wraps
- Entrees
- Desserts
My wife and I were over at Pass-a-Grille taking the dog to the beach. After we are done we usually walk around to give the dog more exercise, and head over to the main beach entrance where there is a shower to wash off sand from the beach. Our dog loves the beach but hates that shower. When done, we then walk back over to the car and head out. When guests or family are in town we take them over to Pass-a-Grille as well, going to the rooftop bar at Hurricane Seafood Grill, across the way from where the shower area and Paradise Grille is located. One of my good friends even got married on this beach, then came over to Hurricane Grill for the reception party.
Paradise Grille / Grille |
On one particular trip in mid-July, we stopped to have breakfast. On the weekends, vendors set up booths and sell everything you can imagine for a little market, and you can find some good deals depending on what you're looking for. We ordered some food from the Paradise Grille, sat down at the picnic tables, overlooking the beach and the gulf of Mexico, enjoying the cooler morning. We both shared our dishes, starting with the biscuits and country gravy ($5) dish served with some fried potatoes.
Paradise Grille / Biscuit and Gravy |
Our second dish was breakfast burrito ($7) also served with fried potatoes. You could also order some assorted egg platters ($6-8), and some omelets from the build your own ($8), to the paradise omelet with shrimp ($10). They also have breakfast sandwiches with assorted meats and vegetables.
Paradise Grille / Dining Area and Beach |
Everything is very reasonably priced, but most of all, you get good quality to go along with that price, plus the enjoyment of being near the beach, makes it even better. If you go in the afternoon or evening they also serve Garden ($8), turkey ($6), or regular Paradise burgers ($7-9), assorted salads ($6-10), fifteen different sandwich selections, appetizers, and entree’s like their fish and chips ($12). I love this little spot and will be coming back here to eat again and relax. This is an example of Florida. It's not fine dining or a bar, but a place to get some good food, at a good price, next to a beach where is always nice.
Paradise Grille / Bell |
This rounds up the review and rating for Paradise Grille, and from this experience, I would compare our experiences here this evening to a few other places either I or my fiancé and I have been to in the past such as O’Maddy’s Bar and Grille in Gulfport, Florida, the Café du Monde in New Orleans, Base Woodfire Oven in Christchurch, New Zealand and the famous Sloppy Joe’s Bar in Key West.

This type of food is common the world around as food you pack to go to the beach with or eat out at a local beach restaurant. It can also be a restaurant that is right on the beach where you don’t need a dress code, and sand is on the floor of the beach. It includes sandwiches, hamburgers, hot dogs, casual + comfort foods, and cold beverages.

Final notes, review basics, observations, and more pictures:
Most reviews are subjective, depending on the writer; but they should also be responsible, and respectfully written, upholding the truth, and accurately conveying the experience to the best of the writer's knowledge, even if it includes metaphors the restaurant may not like to read about. My ratings are by the stars I award (from 0 to 5). The rating is calculated on a point accumulation of six separate factors based on individual experience. They include wine and other beverage selections, plate presentation, customer service, restaurant or café ambiance, food quality, and wow factor. To see more details of this rating list, read this article:
Overall from this experience, and the score factors outlined in the ‘about page’ section, based on my individual experience and rating, I give Paradise Grille a 0.5 out of 5 stars, meaning that they are very basic dining experience below the average to most restaurants.
