Bonefish Grill Menu, Reviews, Photos, Location and Info - Zomato

Bonefish Grill was founded in St Petersburg, Florida in 2000 by Tim Curci and Chris Parker. In October of 2001 Bloomin' Brands, headquartered in Tampa, Florida acquired the restaurant which at the time, had three locations. Today they have seven franchised restaurants and 151 corporate-owned and operated Grills across 28 states.

This is my wife and I’s fourth visit to our St Petersburg location and review, where during previous visits we had the bone-in ribeye with truffle macaroni and cheese, bang-bang shrimp, stone crab claws,  saucy shrimp appetizer, the six-ounce filet and a surf upgrade with the turf of Maryland crab cakes filled with jumbo lump crab meat and topped with red remoulade sauce to name a few.

On this visit, the service was just as good as our previous visits, as we enjoy sitting at the bar seeing the best of both worlds to the restaurant. My wife had a glass of 2017 SAVED Magic Marker Rosé from California which according to the winemakers tasting notes has a deep salmon color crafted primarily from Grenache, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc, and Sangiovese. On the nose, it offers alluring aromas of white peach. Its flavors are brightly layered with notes of tangerine, strawberries, and green apple. Don’t be fooled by its delicate color, this is a crisp, refreshing wine. I started with a local beer from the Cigar City Brewing Company called the Jai alai, followed by a glass of the Federalist Zinfandel to go with the food. I had this same wine on my last visit, which is grown near the Lodi AVA. The Federalist wine was named after the old American Federalist movement, today they are known by my political party affiliation, the Libertarians.

For this visit, we shared the fish tacos in soft-shells with three to the order, with diced mango, green onions, cilantro, and peppers. They were very juicy, and the fish was fresh and not too over seasoned like some fish tacos we have had in other restaurants. My wife ordered the tropic ‘heat-tini’ with Absolute Vodka, house-infused with pineapples and the fresh flavors of mango and lemon, garnished with a thin slice of jalapeño for a slightly spicy finish.

We also ordered a side dish of bacon macaroni and cheese, very creamy, bold cheese flavors and you can’t go wrong with crispy pork either! The dish was topped with breadcrumbs, baked to a golden brown, and paired with the tacos perfectly.

Dessert:
We did not have dessert on this visit, however, on the previous dining, we had the autumn special of a pumpkin creme brûlée.

Final notes, review basics, observations, and more pictures:

Most reviews are subjective, depending on the writer; but they should also be responsible, and respectfully written, upholding the truth, and accurately conveying the experience to the best of the writer's knowledge, even if it includes metaphors the restaurant may not like to read about. My ratings are by the stars I award (from 0 to 5). The rating is calculated on a point accumulation of six separate factors based on individual experience. They include wine and other beverage selections, plate presentation, customer service, restaurant or café ambiance, food quality, and wow factor. To see more details of this rating list, read this article:

Overall from this experience, and the score factors outlined in the ‘about page’ section, based on my individual experience and rating, I give Bonefish Grill a 3 out of 5 stars, meaning that they exceeded my expectations and were far above the average dining experience of most restaurants. The other three visits review scores were also 3 of 5 stars, so they have remained at the same excellence as my previous visits.
