Beach House Restaurant Menu, Reviews, Photos, Location and Info - Zomato

Executive Chef:
Will Manson

My wife and I spent the weekend down in Ana Maria Island for a little Stay-Cation since we lived less than an hour away and could see St Petersburg and Fort Desoto from the island. By boat it is six miles, by car, however, it is one hour since you have to take a long way around. Beach House Restaurant is one of many places that we went for Happy Hour and Island food hopping adventures. They are part of the Chiles Restaurant Group which includes the Sandbar and Mar Vista Waterfront Restaurants on Anna Maria Island and Longboat Key, located on the South end of Anna Maria in Bradenton Beach, just over the Cortez Bridge, and west of the Cortez fishing village. They Opened in 1993, serving fresh, local, Gulf-to-table seafood and farm-to-fork produce. They renovated in 2013 to create a very nice space both inside and the patio facing the beach.

Beach House Dining Room
We arrived for Happy Hour, where there were a few other people at the bar where we sat and the patio outside. My wife had a Patron and grapefruit combo, while I had a Shock Top a spiced Belgian-style wheat brewed with orange, lemon, and lime zest. Later my wife had a taste of some Midori melon liquor which is a sweet, bright green-colored, with a muskmelon-flavored liqueur made by The Japanese whiskey company Suntory. It is manufactured in Japan, the United States, Mexico, and France. It was made exclusively in Japan until 1987 and is typically 20–21% alcohol by volume and pairs well with fresh melon infused cocktails and mojitos or other shooters.

As part of happy hour menu, my wife and I shared the 24 Hour Wild Boar dish, which attracted me to the restaurant when doing research on places to go on the island. It is an ultra slow cooked tender Florida wild boar served with boar demi-glace and potato cakes along with a side of spinach dip. It was a mouthwatering dish, and one of the best dishes we had from our entire trip to Anna Maria. Every bite was a dream from one to the next, wanting you to crave more, and brought sadness when it was all gone.

Wild Boar dish
The wild pig, also called the wild hog, wild boar or feral pig, is not a Florida native and may have been introduced by Spanish explorer Hernando DeSoto as early as 1539. Today the population is very large, with hunting farms being introduced to keep the population in check, as well as being offered on Florida menus.

They also have crab and caviar starters, soft-shell crab sliders, Seafood Capellini along with other seafood  selections,  and sides that are boasted to be “soon to be world famous” hushpuppies

Dessert:
We did not have dessert but some of the selections included the typical key lime pie and cheesecake that most restaurants offer, along with a gooey chocolate brownie called the Beach Castle and Tres Leches to name a few.

Final notes, review basics, observations and more pictures:

Most reviews are subjective, depending on the writer; but they should also be responsible, and respectfully written, upholding the truth, and accurately conveying the experience to the best of the writer's knowledge, even if it includes metaphors the restaurant may not like to read about. My ratings are by the stars I award (from 0 to 5). The rating is calculated on a point accumulation of six separate factors based on individual experience. They include wine and other beverage selections, plate presentation, customer service, restaurant or café ambiance, food quality, and wow factor. To see more details of this rating list, read this article:

Overall from this experience, and the score factors outlined in the ‘about page’ section, based on my individual experience and rating, I give Beach House a 2 out of 5 stars, meaning that they not only exceeded my expectations but were far above the average dining experience of most restaurants.
